Sandwell Council Roadshows: Have your say on your health and wellbeing

Sandwell Council is inviting residents to a series of roadshows across the borough to talk about health and wellbeing.

These events are part of a five-year project called Better Research for Better Health, creating a Health Determinants Research Collaboration in Sandwell, which is funded by the National Institute for Health Research. The aim is to improve how the council gathers and uses information to make decisions about local services. By listening to residents, the council can make sure that services truly meet the needs of the community and provide good value for money.

The council wants to hear from people about what matters most to them when it comes to health and wellbeing. The roadshows will also give residents a chance to learn about different activities and services in Sandwell. Many of these services have been created based on what the community has asked for, helping to improve people’s quality of life.

At these events, residents can share their views on how the council can support them. This could include training on how to measure the success of community projects or finding new ways for local people to get involved in shaping services.

Councillor Jackie Taylor, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing, said:

“The Health Determinants Research Collaboration team will be running these events across Sandwell in Spring 2025. They will give local people a chance to find out more about the project and how they can take part. By listening to residents, we can make sure we provide the right kind of services that people want and need.”
