Hear from inspiring Wolverhampton businesses at ‘Molineux Meets’ event

Speakers from some of Wolverhampton’s most forward thinking organisations will be on the panel at a special Molineux Meets event on Monday as part of the city’s annual Business Week (22 to 26 September).

Taking place between 10am and 12pm, at Molineux Stadium, it is your chance to hear how innovation, sustainability and strategic growth are helping to shape a stronger city and region.

It will also provide the opportunity to connect with like minded professionals, explore new business opportunities, and enjoy networking in an iconic setting.

Barr & Grosvenor Ltd Managing Director, Dominic Grosvenor, and Safran Electronics Defence Senior Environment and Sustainability Advisor, Fay Heywood, will be joined by Chris Roberts, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC’s Human Resources Director, and City of Wolverhampton Council Head of Green Cities and Circular Economy, Perminder Balu, on the panel, hosted by Head of Communications and Marketing, Wolves Foundation, Paul Berry.

Barr & Grosvenor – manufacturers of calibrated weights and producers of specialised castings in iron, brass, bronze and other white metals – last year worked with the council’s business growth team to secure grant funding of over £14,000 for a capital investment critical to securing a contract to renovate Blackfriars Bridge in London.

The company lists an array of high profile conservation projects amongst its works, including the restoration of The Iron Bridge in Shropshire, the production of a new Shrine to St Chad in Lichfield Cathedral, the casting of bronze door locks for galleon lighting columns down The Mall for the Queen Mother’s funeral, door hinges for the Palace of Westminster and bronze handrails for Westminster Cathedral. The company also played a key role in the regeneration of the Springfield Brewery site in Wolverhampton.

Leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defence industry, Collins Aerospace has recently undergone a £1.3 billion takeover by multi national technology group, Safran – a deal that has huge potential and benefits for city businesses and residents.

Councillor Chris Burden, the council’s Cabinet Member for City Development, Jobs and Skills, said: “When it comes to innovation, it starts in Wolverhampton, and the organisations represented on the Molineux Meets panel are shining examples of that.

“The event will offer valuable insights from a cross section of the city’s private and public sector organisations that could help your own business become more sustainable and grow.

“It will also showcase the city’s strengths on a global level and potentially provide new opportunities.”

Places for the event are £15 per person or FREE for Molineux Meets Members. To secure your spot, email Maria.Scullion@limevenueportfolio.com
