City partners are celebrating the first floors of Wolverhampton’s new City Learning Quarter campus being handed over from the constructor to City of Wolverhampton College – as the exciting £61 million development enters its final stages. City of Wolverhampton Council’s latest Safer Routes to School project has been given top marks by pupils. The measures are on Bushbury Lane and Collingwood Road, near Bushbury Nursery School and Northwood Park Primary School. They include a new zebra crossing on Bushbury Lane, a pedestrian refuge in Collingwood Road, upgraded signs and road markings, flashing 20mph limit signs, school zone markings and dragon’s teeth. The ‘Get ready for winter’ events, organised by City of Wolverhampton Council’s Trading Standards team, will take place on Wednesday 1 October at Wolverhampton Market, Cleveland Street and Thursday 2 October at Bilston Indoor Market. Work has started on-site in preparation for a brand-new £24million Haden Hill Leisure Centre. The new leisure centre will feature a wide range of facilities including a main swimming pool, a learner pool, two multi-purpose studios, a 100-station gym, a 27-station indoor cycling studio, a four-court sports hall and a dedicated community room.
