BMW Group UK announces a new charity partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust

On World Cancer Day, BMW Group UK is proud to announce a new three-year charity partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity dedicated to providing the unique care and support required by young people with cancer.

Teenage Cancer Trust was chosen by the BMW Group’s 8,000 associates in the UK as part of the company’s charity selection process where votes are cast across its UK sites – including the National Sales Company and BMW Financial Services in Farnborough, production plants in Oxford, Swindon and Hams Hall near Birmingham.

BMW Group is committing to raise at least £250,000 over the course of the partnership to help fund Teenage Cancer Trust’s specially trained nurses and youth workers, who work tirelessly to support young people with cancer every step of the way. This target will be achieved through a combination of company donations and a variety of employee-led fundraising initiatives – such as bake sales, charity walks and quiz nights.

David George, Chief Executive Officer at BMW Group UK said, “The life-saving work carried out by Teenage Cancer Trust is simply remarkable, therefore it fills me with great pride to launch this new charity partnership. As a cause close to the hearts of many across our businesses, our teams are looking forward to raising vital funds through creative and engaging fundraising initiatives.”

Kate Collins, Chief Executive Officer at Teenage Cancer Trust said, “Teenage Cancer Trust is thrilled to become BMW Group UK’s charity partner.

“Today, and every day, seven young people in the UK aged 13-24 will hear the words “you have cancer”. What happens next can affect them for the rest of their lives. You only get one chance at being young, and those years will shape the person you become – your relationships and career, your confidence and wellbeing, and your ability to pursue your dreams.

“Everything we do is funded by donations and young people have never needed our support more which is why we are grateful that BMW Group UK has chosen to support Teenage Cancer Trust. We cannot wait to see what this partnership makes possible for young people with cancer across the UK.”

Teenage Cancer Trust will remain as BMW Group in UK’s charity partner until 2028. Visit www.teenagecancertrust.org to learn more.
