XPENG UK opens first retailer sites as new all-electric G6 SUV goes on sale

XPENG, one of the world’s leading technology-driven automotive brands, has opened its first UK dealerships, ushering in a new era of electric mobility and marking another major milestone in its UK journey. With locations in Nottingham and Southampton now open, the first UK retail spaces arrive alongside the launch of the XPENG G6, a next-generation battery-electric premium SUV that seamlessly blends cutting-edge innovation with real-world usability.

“The opening of our first UK retailers and the arrival of the XPENG G6 is a crucial moment for our business and for British car buyers,” said William Brown, Managing Director of International Motors Limited, XPENG’s chosen UK distributor partner. “The G6 is an advanced, premium all-electric SUV, perfectly sized for UK roads. It has been designed and developed to redefine consumer expectations, with everyday real-world usability that has been honed to exceed the requirements of owners and drivers, without compromise.

He added: “An important central pillar of the XPENG brand is to create products that customers can feel proud to buy and own. While others in the industry court controversy, XPENG has remained laser-focused on what truly matters: perfecting smart, high-performance electric vehicles that push the boundaries of technology without the distractions of controversy.”

A retail space designed for the future

The newly appointed retailers in Nottingham and Southampton allow customers to explore XPENG’s intelligent vehicle ecosystem, interact with digital displays, and receive expert guidance from brand specialists. All aspects of both retail spaces have been designed to reflect XPENG’s core values: innovation, accessibility and seamless ownership experience.

Darren Cooper, owner of the Peter Cooper Motor Group commented on the significance of the launch: “This isn’t just about launching a new dealership – it’s about introducing a new way of thinking about electric mobility. We’re offering UK customers a first-class introduction to XPENG and a glimpse into the future of electric driving. There has been a real buzz of excitement about the XPENG brand, and we have received a lot of interest before we’ve even opened the doors.

We are thrilled to be representing such an exciting new brand to the UK and look forward to a long and successful representation of the Xpeng products.”

Paul Woodhouse, CEO of Sandicliffe added, “We’re proud to be among the first XPENG retailers in the UK to open our doors to the public. The G6 has already generated a huge amount of interest, and we’re confident that once people get behind the wheel, they’ll be just as impressed as we were. With its premium quality, advanced tech and everyday practicality, this all-electric SUV is set to shake up the segment and challenge the more established players.”

William Brown, Managing Director, International Motors Limited, concluded by saying, “Opening our first UK retail site is a major milestone, but it’s just the beginning. We’re aiming to have between 20 to 25 retailers live by the end of our first year, supported by strategically located aftersales hubs to give customers peace of mind and nationwide coverage. It’s all about building a seamless ownership experience from day one.”

The G6: a new benchmark for electric SUVs

At the heart of XPENG’s UK launch is the pioneering G6, a vehicle designed to challenge the status quo of the electric SUV market. Built on XPENG’s Smart Electric Platform Architecture (SEPA) 2.0, it combines class-leading efficiency, rapid-charging capability, and an intelligent, software-driven user experience.

Powered by an advanced battery and motor system, the XPENG G6 delivers up to 286 PS with an impressive range of up to 354 miles (WLTP). The 800V high-voltage architecture enables the G6 to recharge from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes, using a 280kW charger.

But the XPENG G6 is more than just numbers. Inside, its minimalist, high-tech cabin offers an ultra-modern experience, with a panoramic glass roof, a substantial central touchscreen interface, and an AI-driven operating system that responds intuitively to driver needs. XPENG’s proprietary XNGP driver assistance system, equipped with LiDAR and high-resolution cameras, ensures one of the most advanced semi-autonomous driving capabilities available today.
