What’s on at Walsall’s Family Hubs in 2026?

Between January and March, there are plenty of free activities, workshops and family support at all four of the council’s Family Hubs across the borough.

The Hubs provide a one‑stop shop for local families, offering play sessions, learning activities, health and wellbeing support, and access to partner organisations to help children get the best possible start in life.

Here’s just a flavour of what’s in store this year:

Have fun: Early years development and play

  • Stay & Play, Peep Stay & Play, Storytime, and Magical Moments – sessions supporting communication, early learning and bonding.
  • Little Einsteins – a 5‑week programme focused on baby brain development.
  • Chill & Chat Stay & Play – a relaxed meet-up offering advice from professionals including oral health, nursery funding and whg.
  • (New) Develop and Thrive – a group for parents and children to attend who are worried about their child’s development.

Get support: Support for babies, toddlers and new parents

  • (New) Baby Massage – programmes across all hubs, including dedicated Baby Massage for Dads groups.
  • Bump to Baby, HENRY Preparation for Parenthood, and Triple P Baby – courses for expectant and new parents.
  • Breastfeeding Support Groups – at every hub with no need to book.
  • Introduction to Solid Foods – workshops delivered by health professionals.

Just for Dads – Dad-focused sessions

Walsall continues to champion support for fathers and male carers through:

  • Dads Stay & Play sessions
  • Dads supporting Dads peer groups
  • Dads Social Club
  • Dads & Kids Swim and Wednesday Waves at Darlaston Swimming & Fitness Centre

Specialist support

  • Speech & Language Therapy drop‑ins
  • Tots Talking-  small-group support programmes
  • Secure Beginnings – counselling for parents with children under two
  • SENDIAS information sessions – for parents of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities
  • The Supported Waiting Parent Network – supporting families awaiting specialist appointments

Where are the Hubs?

The Family Hubs are located across Walsall to ensure every family can access support close to home:

  • North Family Hub
    275 Blakenall Lane, Blakenall, Walsall WS3 1HJ
  • South & Central Family Hub
    Birchills Street, Walsall, WS2 8NF
  • West Family Hubs
Ilmington House, Crescent Road, Wednesbury, WS10 8AE
  • East Family Hub
    Silver Court, Walsall, WS8 6HA

Things to do at home too

The timetable also highlights a range of home‑based learning ideas, including water painting, cress‑head growing, sensory play ideas and craft activities to provide low‑cost ways for families to play and learn together.

Get involved

The full timetable of what’s on, where, can be found on the Family Hubs website. Many sessions are drop‑in, while others can be booked online.
