In 2024 alone, the team supported 1,797 residents, helping 596 people secure employment and 579 access further education or training. Additionally, 91 new employers were engaged, expanding opportunities for local businesses and job seekers alike.
The programme plays a key role in delivering the Council’s economic growth objectives. By leveraging data intelligence, Walsall Works effectively targets areas of greatest need, addressing issues such as low productivity, labour market challenges, and skills shortages.
Through strong partnerships with local businesses, social landlords, training providers, and public sector organisations, Walsall Works ensures that economic development initiatives have a direct impact on residents. Notably, the team actively incorporates social value commitments into major procurement projects, helping secure local employment and training opportunities in large-scale developments, such as the Spark industrial park and the new Bloxwich Launchpad building.
