New event to bring festive fun to Walsall town centre

This year, there will be festive markets and Christmas lights switch-on event in Walsall town centre, organised by Walsall Council, sponsored by AR Demolitions in partnership with Walsall MakerFest Fringe.

Taking place at three locations across the town centre including, The Crossing at St Paul’s, The Bridge and The New Art Gallery Walsall, it promises to be an afternoon and evening full of festive fun and entertainment.

The event will take place on Saturday 29 November 2025 with festivities starting at 11am and will include a Christmas Makers’ Market, live performances of music and dance, and creative festive workshops.

Illuminate – a projection mapping display on to The Crossing at St Paul’s, will take place at 4:45pm ahead of the 5.30pm festive lights switch-on at The Bridge by the Sister Dora statue.

“ It’s all about bringing people together into the heart of Walsall to celebrate community, creativity and tradition. Our second MakerFest event earlier this month was a huge success, attracting over 45,000 visitors to the town centre, and we want to continue that creative spirit into the festive season. I hope residents will come along and enjoy the entertainment on offer and show their support for our local businesses.

“Councillor Adrian Andrew

Deputy Leader of Walsall Council

The full line-up of entertainment and activities will be announced in the coming weeks. The list of events and activities confirmed so far includes:
