With the launch of new air quality webpages and the installation of air quality sensors across the borough, as well as our Engines Off anti-idling campaign with schools, 2025 has been a big year for air quality in Solihull.
Council staff hosted an information stall at the Core, taking place to mark Clean Air Day.
The annual campaign is focused on raising awareness of the impact of air quality on people’s health and wellbeing.
Cllr Mackiewicz said: “We’re working with the West Midlands Combined Authority, Birmingham Airport and many more businesses to play our part in improving air quality across the borough.
“As our Air Quality strategy details, there are plenty of projects taking place to help make Solihull’s air quality – which is already pretty good – even better.
“Better air quality will help us all breathe cleaner air, with all the many health benefits that brings with it.
“For anyone who wants to find out more about air quality in Solihull, I’d really recommend visiting the Council website.”
The Council’s Air Quality Strategy for 2024 to 2028 details the work currently taking place to improve air quality.
