The Sporting Bears Motor Club is organising and promoting its inaugural Dream Rides Show this weekend – and not charging members of the public a penny in entrance or parking fees. The unique event runs from 10am to 4pm on Sunday July 14 at an extraordinary venue – Wycombe Air Park (also known as Booker Airfield) SL7 3DP. Special guests on the day will include Mike Brewer, the legendary presenter of the Wheeler Dealers TV programme, plus the famous YouTuber, JayEmm on Cars. And apart from being able to see and photograph some equally legendary four-wheeled models, showgoers will have the opportunity to experience once-in-a-lifetime rides in several of them as they are unleashed on to the wide, half-mile runway. In return, the not-for-profit Sporting Bears Motor Club and its dozens of volunteer drivers ask that donations are made to nominated children’s charities and foundations including Keech Hospice Care (www.keech.org.uk) and Chloe’s and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund (www.cssef.org.uk).Since 1989 when it was established, the club and its members have selflessly raised over £3 million in this way, with all proceeds going to carefully vetted charitable causes. Looking forward to this Sunday’s exciting family-friendly event which will warmly welcome visitors of all ages, Michael De Sousa Macedo, Event Organiser at The Sporting Bears commented:“Many thanks to our partners, Progress Flying School and Wycombe Air Park for hosting our Dream Rides Show.“We are hugely grateful to them and the army of volunteers that are making this event happen. With the support of partners and sponsors we will hopefully stage more of our own shows in the future.”As an added bonus, The Met Office is forecasting a dry, largely sunny day and temperatures of around 20C in the Wycombe Air Park / Marlow area on Sunday. Over the coming weeks and months The Sporting Bears will also be offering Dream Rides at other big, family-orientated events including The British Motor Show at the Farnborough International Exhbition and Conference Centre from August 15 – 18.
