An NHS double decker bus will be coming to Wolverhampton from 6 May, 2026 to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer, and the importance of early detection.
Organised by the NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board and NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board, in partnership with local NHS organisations and councils, the cancer bus offers local people the opportunity to speak directly with healthcare professionals.
Visitors can learn how to recognise potential cancer symptoms, get advice on what to do if they are concerned, and find out about local support services.
They can also get information about breast, bowel and cervical screening – including who is eligible, what the screening involves, and what results mean. Free health checks will also be available, including blood pressure and blood sugar testing.
People are invited to drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm to speak to the friendly team.
The bus is also stopping off in Dudley, Walsall, West Bromwich and at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre next week.
John Denley, Wolverhampton’s Director of Public Health, said: “This is part of a series of events taking place across the Black Country throughout the week, and I would encourage anyone who has any questions about the signs and symptoms of cancer, screening, diagnosis and treatment to come along to speak to experts who will be on board the bus.”
