New podcast celebrates local voices across the borough

On Tuesday 23 September 2025, from 11.45am to 12.30pm, Walsall College will host a pre-launch event. At the event, the upcoming launch of a series of podcasts will be discussed over the coming weeks. Attendees will get a sneak peek into the stories, voices, and ideas that will be shared from across the borough.

“ This new podcast is a wonderful way of showcasing the pride, passion and ambition of our community. We Are Walsall 2040 is not just a vision but a movement that belongs to everyone. Through this podcast, we will continue to listen, learn and celebrate the voices that make Walsall such a special place. “

Councillor Mike Bird, the Leader of Walsall Council

“ We are proud to have supported the recording of the Walsall Voices podcast here at Walsall College through our student enterprise, Future Flames Productions. This project has given students and staff the opportunity to help bring local voices to life, and to play a part in amplifying the stories and aspirations that will shape Walsall’s future. “

Melissa Tisdale, Lecturer and Programme Lead at Walsall College

At the heart of the We Are Walsall 2040 vision is a bold ambition: to create a borough where everyone is healthy and well, thriving and happy, prosperous and innovative – a place where all can feel proud to belong.

The Walsall Voices podcast will highlight the lived experiences of residents and community leaders, while celebrating the borough’s diversity. New episodes will be released regularly, offering fresh perspectives and developing meaningful conversations about Walsall’s future.

The launch of the podcast follows the success of the first We Are Walsall 2040 conference in June 2025 attended by more than 160 leaders, residents, and partners from across the borough. The podcast builds on this engagement by continuing the conversation and giving residents a platform to share their vision for the borough’s future.
