A new pathway, additional seating and revamped community noticeboards are currently being installed at a Wednesfield park to offer improvements for local residents.
New exercise markers are also being put in place for walkers and runners at Ashmore Park in Griffiths Drive, following a consultation with local people.
City of Wolverhampton Council and developers Haystoun Construction Limited have started the works this week.
Improvements include the installation of a new hard surface path around the park’s lower football field. This will make it easier to walk around the whole of the site, particularly when the ground conditions are wet or muddy.
Additional seating will be installed alongside the new path and new community noticeboards will replace the existing ones in the park.
And for anyone who uses the park for exercise, new wooden distance markers will be installed along the main circuit of the pathway to gauge walking and running distance.
The improvements at Ashmore Park are being funded through a Section 106 Agreement related to the former Danesmore Park Primary School. Work will continue over the coming weeks.

“The changes will help make the park more accessible and inviting for all local people – as well as provide some useful guides for any visitors who like to use the park for exercise.
