M6 Junction 9 roadworks to take place in July and August

M6 J9 resurfacing areas of closure – National Highways network (Blue) local authority network (Red)

 

Carriageway resurfacing works on the M6 Junction 9 roundabout will be taking place every night from Sunday 20 July to Friday 8 August between 10pm and 5am. Whilst working is taking place the whole roundabout, including exits from, and accesses to, the motorway will be closed.

Anyone passing through or intending to use Junction 9 is advised to plan ahead of the roadworks taking place and be aware of the diversions in place if travelling northbound or southbound of the M6 or passing through towards Walsall or Wednesbury.

As part of the essential maintenance works, the contractors will also be carrying out bridge joint repairs, grounds maintenance, litter picking and street lighting upgrades.

A461 Bescot Road, A4148 Old Pleck Road, A4148 Pleck Road, A454 Wolverhampton Road to M6 J10

 

From Wednesbury to M6 North & South

A461 Wood Green Road, A461 Walsall St, A461 High Bullen, A462 Trouse Lane, A462 Darlaston Road, A4038 Walsall Road, A462 St Lawrence Way, A462 Blockall, A462 The Green, A462 Midland Road, A462 Owen Road, A463 Armstrong Way, A454 Black Country Route to M6 J10

 

From Walsall to M6 South

A4148 Bescot Road, A4148 Wallows Lane, A4148 Broadway West, A4148 Broadway, A34 Birmingham Road to M6 J7

Through traffic

Use A461 Wood Green Road, A461 Walsall St, A461 High Bullen, A462 Trouse Lane, A462 Darlaston Road, A4038 Walsall Road, A4038 Darlaston Road, A4148 Bescot Road

Drivers on the M6 and unable to leave at Junction 9 can continue to Junctions 7 or 10 and follow the diversion.
