Solihull Family Hubs launch Outreach Hub in Meriden

Solihull Family Hubs are launching a new outreach hub located in Meriden.

Whilst not a dedicated Family Hub building, the outreach hub based at Meriden Church of England Primary School will provide yet another support and activity site for children and families in Solihull.

Meriden CofE Primary School is the second Family Hub outreach location in Solihull, with the first outreach hub being situated at Shirley Heath Junior School since November 2024.

Leader of Solihull Council, Councillor Karen Grinsell, welcomed the news:

“I’m delighted to see the Family Hubs continuing to grow and expand their presence to help more and more people.

“The new site at Meriden Primary School will be a fantastic resource, not only for children and parents who attend the school, but for anyone local to Meriden and other nearby areas within Solihull.

“Outreach Hubs are a key part of the Family Hubs offer as they provide an opportunity for residents to access a variety of support and activities for people in a place near to them.

“I’d like to personally thank the Family Hubs team and the school staff at Meriden Primary School for all their hard work and contributions to making this project happen.”

Lucy Anderton, Headteacher of Meriden Primary School, enthused:

“We are very excited to offer Family Hubs support and activity to our much-loved community in Meriden.

“Having the Outreach Hub based here on the school grounds makes it incredibly convenient for parents and carers to pop-in for sessions whenever it suits them, such as before or after school pick-ups.

“We are always looking to support our local community in any way we can, so I’m proud to welcome the Family Hubs and their partners to our school.”

The Family Hub timetables are updated every month on the Hubs and activities website page.

A variety of sessions will become available at the Meriden Outreach Hub in the coming months as support and activity providers are introduced to the new space.

The new site in Meriden means there are now two Outreach Hubs and four dedicated Family Hub buildings in total in Solihull:

Elmwood Family Hub in Smith’s Wood

Evergreen Family Hub in Kingshurst

Hatchford Brook Family Hub in Elmdon

Riverside Family Hub in Chelmsley Wood

Shirley Heath Primary School Outreach Hub

Family Hubs are local centres where children, young people, parents, and carers can access support and take part in fun activities.
